Volunteers help provide food, care, and encouragement to a diverse community—people of all cultures, backgrounds, and faiths—coming together to make life a little brighter for others.
The Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen provides more than a meal—they offer dignity, warmth, and community. Volunteers support their Life Meal program, where guests enjoy hot, home-cooked breakfasts and lunches served with compassion in a welcoming, table-side setting. This safe, family-friendly environment uplifts those experiencing homelessness, addiction, or mental illness. Your time helps nourish both bodies and spirits.
Friends of Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue organization in Huntsville. Instead of shelters or cages, every animal is cared for in a loving foster home—ensuring personalized attention and a smoother path to finding their forever family. Volunteers play a vital role in helping animals feel safe, supported, and ready for adoption.
ShowerUp is a nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity and care to those experiencing homelessness by providing access to clean, safe showers. Powered by the support of individuals, families, churches, and local businesses, ShowerUp has delivered thousands of showers along with hygiene items, survival gear, socks, and more. Volunteers help bring comfort, compassion, and human connection to those who need it most.
305 8th Street, also known as Eighth Street Community, is a faith-based nonprofit that has been serving adults with diverse disabilities since 1979. Their residents include individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, cognitive and hearing impairments, and visual impairments. The organization is dedicated to providing structured living arrangements, personalized care plans, and meaningful life-enrichment activities that support growth, independence, and connection. Their mission centers on celebrating each individual’s strengths and expanding their network of friends, family, and community.
As part of The Big Give, i3 is proud to continue our tradition of spending the day with the residents of 305 8th Street. For more than eight years, our team members have partnered with the residents for a special holiday shopping trip at the Huntsville Walmart Supercenter, an experience filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments. This annual tradition is one of the most cherished parts of The Big Give, reminding us of the importance of kindness, community, and shared celebration.
